Vesna Award for the best animated film – Chicory’n’Coffee, Dušan Kastelic
Definitely one of the undisputable highlights of the festival, one of the top achievements of Slovenian animation and a short film in general. With a striking accuracy and a well applied touch of finery, it tells a story full of bitter-sweet truth. Using modern animation technique, the film can shamelessly match those from the best and the richest of the studios. The film makes chicory smell just like coffee. This year I was for the first time visited Baselworld. Fair was enormous and everyone can find something suitable for his one taste. Here are also a few pictures.
Finally, back from London. I went to visit some faculties. They have open days and I have chance to look around, meet some students, ask questions and get the application forms. And here is a video from Royal College of Art exhibition (mostly transport design).
In average, the telephone is actively used for less than hour daily. For the rest of the time, the telephone is only a dull object on the desk as a part of an environment where we work, socialize and dwell. The telephone presented is a result of researching properties of telephones and house centrals in this passive role. I designed a fashion accessory for home, which inspires with its presence but also has all properties of in-house central communication point and telephone. It addresses the people that expect products to carry an emotional value, not only have technological advances.
Tea Bag was for the first time introduced on 19th Biennial of Industrial Design. I have to say that response (from media and professional designers) was very good.
In cooperation with Zlatarna Celje we designed a prestigious business gift with content. In the peaks of Slovene tradition we cought the hardworking bee Kranjska sivka(lat. Apis Mellifica Carnica), which is highly valued all over the world because of its qualities. In the gift this cultural tradition blends with the culture of beekeeping, the semantics of precious materials and with contemporary design.
Koperis very beautiful and special city on the coast of the Adriatic Sea. We were invited (as a designers) to design, or we can say to plan Stall for this old city. Our main paint was to be effective in harmony with the city. But at the end, the project was not realized. I think the reason was political. Project was also introduced in Genova (Italy) at Exhibition.

We can use this ring for information (about wine, offerer, trade mark...etc.), as a rack and when the wine is opened and we pour it, the ring takes the function of the blotter. The ring is for one use only.
Originally this illustration was made for Leonardo Da Vinci project, but it was also introduced in Pixxelpoint (exhibition for 3D Artists in Nova Gorica, Slovenija). You can read more about this in Klik magazine.
